Shabuton Tei : The No.1 Collagen Shabu Shabu in Town!!!

I’ve never been to Shabuton Tei before and this was my very first time. It’s located at IOI City Mall at LG Floor. The No. 1 Collagen Shabu Shabu or “靓女锅”, homemade Hakata Ramen and Gyoza are some of their signature dishes you must try!

The No.1 Collagen Shabu Shabu RM49.90++

This is the No.1 Collagen Shabu Shabu or so we called “靓女锅”. This Shabu Shabu is very rich in collagen as their soup is well braised with the collagen extracted from the pork. It’s recommended for 2 people and it’s so full for two girls. The soup is really good without doubt. The soup would leave a “sticky” surface on your lips. It really tastes good!

This is the chilli they provided to match with the Shabu Shabu. There are minced garlic, garlic chilli, Chilli padi, minced chilli, soy sauce, sesame sauce, and the Chinese parsley. It’s up to 8 types of Chilli paste provided. I love it because I’m those Chilli freak and cannot eat without Chilli. I love the garlic chilli most!

These are the food that included in the Shabu Shabu set. It’s for two person’s portion and it’s quite a lot for two girls. It’s including of fish paste, pork paste, Salmon fillets, fish balls, fish noodles, shrimps, pork balls, dried wakame, bean curd skin, Pork Tsukune, Gyoza, Chinese cabbage, Tong Oh, Enoki, Shitake Mushroom, Sweet Corn, Pumpkin, Carrot, Shirataki, Pork Slices, White Clam and tofu. It’s quite filling.

Well, I think the overall is not bad as the food portion is quite satisfied. I would like to highlight the soup base because it’s really good. Rich in collagen with no doubt and the texture is very rich. I love the feeling of mouthful of collagen. Strongly recommend! Besides, I noticed that the dined-in customers most likely to order the Ramen. I guess it supposing very nice too! Thumb Up!!!

Nanny's Pavilion

Wow, it has been a very long time since my last post during December. So here you go with the 1st update in the year of 2015!!! Wohoo!!

As everybody know that KLIA2 is a new lost cost terminal for those budget airline right, and it’s also a “food centre” for all those good food. This is one of my favourite place in KLIA2, Nanny’s Pavilion.

Flat White RM8.00+

This is my favourite choice of coffee. At the very beginning, I was looking for mocha since they don’t really make flat white. However, the kind and helpful waiter [Sorry, I’ve forgotten his name] was feeling so exciting to customize it and specially for me. Hahahaha! That’s was a very great experience to dine in Nanny’s Pavilion. They serve the espresso and milk separately and I mixed it up.

Wow! It’s so cool to make it myself and it’s look not bad right?

Original Pancake RM12.00+

I love pancake! It tasted indescribable great. The pancake tasted puffy and soft. Pancake always do good with maple syrup!!! I think pancake craver would know what I’m trying to express right? Haha!!

The interior design, designed like baggage storage.

Even the stand board, it was well designed. And 7 was my lucky number!

Quiet and cosy ambience, soft music, nice and helpful crews, nice food. That’s what I had concluded. No doubt, I would give myself to visit here for a second time.

Chye Seng Huat Hardware - Tucked Away Cafe in Tyrwhitt Road

Never judge a book by it's cover and you'll find ti so wrong. Chye Seng Huat Hardware is gonna dissapoint you badly if you think it's a hardware store. However, if you're looking for good coffee, it will never let you down.

Walking along the Tyrwhitt Road, you might be ignored of this tucked away cafe and you'll never think that is a cafe instead. The facade of the cafe is agreeably nostalgic.

The main entrance of the cafe is actually at the left side from the nostalgic signboard. Getting in the cafe, you'll see there are several round island tables and stools. That's the smoking area.

The aroma of freshly brewed coffee is enticing you upon you getting in the cafe. A well-trained barista was making coffee. Cinnamon nutmeg mocha was their highlight of the month.

A good dessert always manage to catch my attention. Well, the desserts seems not bad! Surprisingly, they're selling Ang Ku Kueh. What a surprising combination with coffee!

The wooden frame that fixed on the iron rod was filled up with handmade souvenirs. The souvenirs are quite differ from the town and unique. Buy it home if you like it. The spotlight dangle from the ceiling is dazzling and people are everywhere. Soft music was playing in the house. If you think that's little crowded, grab the seats near to the corner, the natural sunlight will enliven your spirits and soothe your nerves.

Honey Pineapple Coconut Muffin S$4.20

I love the muffin very badly. Pineapple muffin with sprinkled of coconut flakes on top. The pineapple muffin is slobbery good. Every mouthful of pineapple muffin, I felt satisfied. The muffin is not too sweet and the it's dense.

Flat White S$5.50

Flat white use to be my favorite all the time. Mine was slightly modified and it's soy milk instead of milk. Mild sensation and milky. Colorful dishes and cups make cheerful dishware.

This is the menu. Menu is well attached with the mounting board. Extraordinary matching with the hardware store concept. Chye Seng Huat Hardware isn't serve coffee and desserts only. They serve hot like spaghetti, breakfast, etc. Heard their breakfast is not bad but bear in mind of their kitchen is closed at 5.00pm everyday.

So far, Chye Seng Huat didn't let me down although it's little crowded even I visited during weekdays. Nice and friendly receptionist at counter and never refuse to provide me options when I was indecisive.

Singapore: Yio Chu Kang View Market & Food Centre

After a few days dining at Yio Chu Kang View Market and Food Centre, I’ve summarized some valued and delicious food here.

First of all, 香记粥品A stall that selling porridge. The porridge is very smooth and it’s inexpensive. Awesome matching with char kuey.

This is the menu. Variety of options.

Century Egg & Pork Porridge S$3.20

Smooth porridge well cooked with generous amount of century egg and minced pork. The tenderness of the minced pork and pork stripe are just right. Matching with spring onion, preserved vege [冬菜] and fried onion enrich the overall presentation. If you’re century egg lover, add an extra amount of century egg for 50cents would satisfy you.

Minced Pork Porridge S$2.70

Well-cooked plain porridge was used and added with minced pork. It presents the minced pork porridge. Smooth porridge added on with the juicy minced pork. The taste of porridge is greatly enhanced with spring onion, fried onion and preserved vege [冬菜].

Second, Mee Hon Kuey brought to you by 丽香 鱼汤 & 生面. This was recommended by bf as I’m a Pan Mee loyal fans and lover.

Mee-Hon Kuih S$3.00

Typical Singapore style of Mee-Hon Kuih. Hand-rolled dough matching with vege and sprinkle of anchovy and fried onion, served with chilli padi and soy sauce representing the typical Singapore Mee-Hon Kuih. Would recommend this to PAN MEE lover.

Bak Kut Prawn Noodles S$3.50

Have you ever imagined two Singapore signature street food, Bak Kut Teh and prawn noodles are combined and become Bak Kut Prawn Noodles? Juicy pork rib and fresh shrimps are added and serving with typical Singapore mee-hon. Good try!

Apologies that I forgotten to snap the picture of the stall, however, I believe that the stall is easily  to be recognize as they’re well known for this fusion cuisine.

Sugarcane S$1.20

This is nice as there’s no sugar added. Portion big as well, it’s enough for two people consumptions. Apologies that I didn’t snap any photo of this stall.

This Yio Chu Kang View Market and Food Centre is located at opposite the Yio Chu Kang Community Centre [next to two temples]. Surrounded by HDBs [Singapore government flat], it has more than 50 food stalls. Making it an ideal location for housewife and families to sit down and enjoy a meal.

Strongly recommend to try the char kuey as it’s freshly made every day and it’s inexpensive. It tasted great, crispy and chewy. Bf told me that he used to queue up long during weekend as it has hot demands among the residents. Making this as a must try items.

Aglio Olio ◆ As simple and awesome

Aglio olio, which is a noodles that cooked only using garlic and olive…

Ingredients needed:
Choice of noodles
Garlic
Olive Oil
Smoked Bacon (optional)
Salt and pepper

Rinse the noodles well and cook accordingly… This is macaroni… cook accordingly…
20mins later, the macaroni is well cooked…

I added in Bacon because I'm Bacon lover… slide the Bacon stripes preferred size…
Heat the pan and put the Bacon inside without any oil…this is because the Bacon is actually consisting a lot of fat…

Fry the Bacon for a few second, until the color turns golden brown… switch off the fire... As you can see, I didn't add in any oil, that's all the oil from the bacon.

Mashes the garlic and chilli well, sauté it well… Add in the garlic and chilli, sauté with the Bacon…

Then add in the macaroni, seasons with salt and pepper… serve hot…

I love to cook and used to cook aglio olio… its very simple and convenient… as you can just simply grab anything in the kitchen and cook… add in Bacon would enhance the fragrance of the noodles… sprinkle some Parmesan cheese on top would enhance the overall…

Dinner at Bubbles & Bites

As I mentioned earlier, I like to hang out in Bubble and Bite (BB) because the nice food and rustic ambience. As I promised earlier, I did promise that I’ll introduce more nice food in BB. Here you go!

Club Sandwich Salad RM20

This was my very first time to try this club sandwich salad. It consists of beef bacon, parmesan cheese, romaine lettuce, onion, hard-boiled egg, chicken ham and cherry tomatoes! It was serving with balsamic vinegar and olive oil. Big portion as well. Nice!!!

Peri-Peri Chicken Wings RM22

This is fried chicken wings serving with the peri-peri chilli sauce. I love the chilli sauce very much. It doesn’t seem strange if you tried Nando’s Chicken before. The chilli sauce is exactly the same and it taste spicy and sour. Matching with well marinated fried chicken wing, recommend to all peri-peri lovers!

Aglio Olio Spaghetti RM19

I love this very much! It tasted absolutely delicious. Aglio olio is a dish that emphasize on garlic and olive oil. Aglio is garlic and olio refers to olive oil. Little bit spicy and the garlic smell fragrant. Thumb up!

New York Spaghetti with Meatballs RM25

Spaghetti in tomato sauce matching with meatballs. The portion is big enough. Not much surprise on this. Beef meatballs tasted a little bit heavy. Overall, not bad.
