Taiwan 【February 2015】

I’m going to Taiwan on this coming February. I’ve figured out some useful info to travel in Taiwan. For those who are looking for Taiwan info, here you go.

Weather:
Taiwan weather is warm most of the time, especially during April to October, and that’s why this period used to be the peak travel season. However, typhoon season is from July to September, it might be a little inconvenient for those who travel to Taiwan during this season. The average temperature in Taiwan is 22 degree Celsius, the highest would be 27 - 28 degree Celsius and the lowest is 15 – 16 degree Celsius.

Transportation:
Taiwan transportation is very convenient as their MRT railway is high accessibility. Moreover, most of giant shopping complex would provide free shuttle bus services.

You can access to any public transport using the Easy Card 悠游卡】 . For examples, bus, subway, and even parking. Besides, you can reload at any 7-11 convenient stores, and its all around. [I'm thinking of the Digi man, follow you wherever you may go!]

For refund, as long as you use more than 5 times and 3 months and above, you may refund a=the full amount of the balance plus deposit. Or if you used the card OR more than 3months, NT20 will be charged as processing fees. For those who are looking to refund, please take good care of your card as no defect. But in my point of view, the card design is pretty cute, I don’t think I’ll refund my balance and I would take it as an souvenir from Taiwan..

For your information, those foreigners who aged between 15 to 30 years old, you can apply Youth Card Travel and card holders are entitled for quite a lot of discount. For examples, sightseeing spot, accommodation, food, even shopping. You can apply the card in airport, but you have to present your passport for application purpose.

Communication:
The communication in Taiwan is very convenient. Internet data plan can be applied at airport, and the prices are variants according to your travel days.

Taiwan Adapter:
Taiwan power point is different with Malaysia, and so universal adapter is needed. For your information, I have only one universal adapter but I’ll bring an extension most of the time so that I don’t have to buy so many adapters to travel.
